Want Some Help?

Welcome to South Windsor Physical Therapy Plus

In the midst of government forced closures and uncertainty, we wanted to provide some clarity from  Physical Therapy Plus.  As stated in the MEMORANDUM ON IDENTIFICATION OF ESSENTIAL CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE WORKERS DURING COVID-19 RESPONSE, on page 5, physical therapists are an essential healthcare provider.

After careful consideration and debating our impact of remaining open versus closing in the presence of practicing social distancing, we have decided that it is our role and responsibility, within the healthcare system to remain open.  This accomplishes several critical components:

  • We can continue providing necessary treatment for our current patients so that they do not regress and have the opportunity to achieve full recovery.
  • We are primary care providers for neuromusculoskeletal injuries, which allows us to lessen the burden on the ER/urgent care facilities, hospital systems as a whole and primary care physicians, who’s time and energy is needed caring for the patients with COVID-19 and other medical conditions.
    • According to Dr. Matos, an expert in biologic surety and the management of select agent programs at federal facilities: “Physical therapists are essential in flattening the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic. They play a key role in keeping people they can help out of the doctor offices and ER’s.  This will not only free up the medical teams to treat those impacted by COVID-19, but also limit the exposure of those seeking the care of the physical therapist.”

We are following the CDC’s and DPH recommendations for cleaning, screening, keeping patients separated and minimizing the number of people in the facility at any time.  We are constantly monitoring the situation and will continue to make adjustments as quickly as the situation dictates.

Physical Therapy Plus is conveniently located in South Windsor, CT on the corner of Sand Hill and Sullivan Avenue.

We treat a wide range of orthopedic conditions including pre/post operative conditions, spinal abnormalities and chronic pain. We evaluate the patient to determine the root cause of the problem so we are not just treating symptoms. We believe in a hands on approach. Our therapists are certified in extended manual techniques including McKenzie Method, GRASTON, Integrated Dry Needling and Vestibular treatments.

If you or someone you love is experiencing pain or muscular issues that are keeping them from the activities that they love, visit the therapists at Physical Therapy Plus.

I was about to give up hope. 11 months had past since I was able to run regularly and train hard; there were months of not being able to run at all, and never pain free. I had seen orthopedists and other health professionals to no avail. I finally made an appointment at South Windsor Physical Therapy Plus, my last chance. Anne Zimbelman performed what to me was a miracle. After an unrushed, thorough evaluation she identified imbalances, weaknesses and areas of extreme tightness that needed to be addressed. She taught me focused exercises and stretches. She also used a specialized deep message modality called the Graston Technique. I am back running again.

I have been seeing Colleen for my herniated disc problem. She helps me manage my neck pain in a comfortable, caring environment. She explained the exercises clearly and gave me paper instructions to take home. The staff has been super flexible to work with my schedule. I've seen marked improvement in a short time and couldn't be happier. I would recommend Colleen and Physical Therapy Plus to anyone in need of physical therapy.
